SAN JUAN MS HONEY BEARS DRILL TEAM DO THEIR PART FOR HURRICANE IKE VICTIMS

NORTH SAN JUAN ELEMENTARY, RECIPIENT OF TBEC HONOR ROLL

North San Juan Elementary received the Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC) Honor Roll Award for 2008. This is the fourth consecutive year this school receives this prestigious award for sustained, academic excellence in Texas.
The school’s Principal Diana Ruiz and staff will be honored on November 10 at the Ninth Annual TBEC Awards Reception in San Antonio along other schools in the state that have also received the highest percentage of students performing at the state’s most rigorous standard -commended- in every subject.
This award recognizes schools that have demonstrated three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations in the state.
The North San Juan Elementary administration and staff is pleased to represent PSJA ISD in the state level as recipients of this award, according to Ruiz.
“We are an established [campus],” Ruiz said. “Teachers are very much involved in writing the curriculum to meet the needs of our kids. [Here at North San Juan] we look at every child individually and do what is best for the child.”
This attitude and guidance have led them to achieve honors like the TBEC Honor Roll as well as achieve an Exemplary status nine of the last 10 years. This year, they were one of five PSJA ISD campuses rated Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency.
“Our parents trust us and our students are at a point where they have high expectations for themselves,” Ruiz said. “Our kids are motivated to do well, that is the key.”
PSJA ISD Board of Trustees and Administration congratulate North San Juan Elementary for their achievements and efforts in providing the best education possible for their students.
